Visitors

We've had a number of visitors recently, and Zoe loved it. When Holger and Christine from Berlin came with their two daughters, Mira and Emma, she just couldn't get enough of the action. While she was a bit hesitant at first, especially when they started playing with HER toys, she quickly got over her shyness, and the three of them had a ball, tearing up the house in no time. Five-year-old Mira was great with Zoe, patiently explaining new things to her, drawing, dancing, playing and singing together; and Zoe ended up following her around all over the place. Zoe hung out a lot with Annika, who was awarded favourite Auntie status for several days.

Dance, Papa!

Little bossy boots is becoming quite assertive about what she wants. For a while I had to dance with her to her favourite song (at the time the picture was taken: Jack Johnson's Upside Down) as soon as I got home from work. She would come to where I was sitting or standing, pull my hand and say "dance, Papa". And off we'd go. More recently it's all about sitting down on the ground next to wherever she's playing ("Papa, sit") and then drinking copious amounts of tea she'll serve up from the tea set Auntie Sian gave her. Or read a book. Or just watch her change her Dolly's nappy. But don't dare move away. Another favourite is "Papa, shave" - otherwise no kisses for you.
