Upside down

Our friends Andy and Tina from Karlsruhe just visited us, together with their two kids Neil, 4, and Helen, 1. Neil and Zoe hit it off instantly, turning the house upside down several times a day. That they got on so well was kind of surprising, considering Zoe usually prefers to hang out with girls, apart from next door neighbour Garth, who is a bit of a younger brother to her as they’ve grown up together and she can usually boss around. And it was even more a surprise as Neil, without being rough, is a physical young boy, something that Zoe to date has not really appreciated about boys. Despite some language barriers, the two were frequently hanging out in some corner of the house, giggling or singing. And Zoe picked up playing board games from Neil, but luckily she isn’t quite as bad a loser.
