Little butterfly

It was Garth's birthday the other day and Beth did some face painting on the kids. Zoe had been excited all week about getting her face painted. She wore her favourite birthday party outfit - the fairy costume - and was turned into a little butterfly. Good fun.

Australia Day

This Australia Day we went camping - this is Little Beach on the Central Coast, about 90 minutes out of Sydney. The beauty of the campsite is supposed to be that it's fairly deserted because there is no parking next to it. Campers have to carry their gear for about 1 km, which is usually a deterrent for most Aussies, who like taking half their household along for a camp (see last January). Well, the picture shows you it is fairly empty, but it doesn't show you the 40+ group of Aussie blokes and sheilas celebrating wet and noisily under the Australia flag. Just after we arrived they were singing the national anthem... Ok, most of them left when it got dark, others were by that time too drunk to make much more noise than snores and even others
had to take care of their little kids. There were a couple of relationship issues but it didn't get too messy.
