New bed

Bye-bye cot, Zoe has a real bed now. She probably would have fit into her cot for another couple of months if not years but the decision to switch was made quite easy: the cot was getting too dangerous. Believe it or not, Zoe managed to tumble over the head-end rail, which is nearly her height. She somehow shimmied up, lost balance and toppled over, landing head first on the floor. Ouch. Luckily she only bruised her forehead, nothing serious. So the next day we bought a new bed, and she loves it - unfortunately she loves it more during the day to play in than at night to sleep. And because there are no rails to keep her inside, she will inevitably leave her bed sometime during the night when she wakes up. Guess where she goes...

Be prepared

It's been an unusually wet summer this year, on several occasions raining so much in just two or three days as it would normally in a whole month. So it's good to be prepared, and Zoe loves her fireman's raincoat. Luckily it's never been particularly cold so we can still play outside, splashing through puddles and the like. But we've also had some hot sunny weather, when we'll take out the little blue shell and fill it with water for Zoe and Garth.
